Hiking in the winter?

Submitted by WeekendOasis on Tue, 02/09/2010 - 20:04

A Winter hike at Shenandoah National Park? You bet! The air is crystal-clear and those bare trees allow for greater views of the lowlands, as well as the many wild animals that make their home there. Shenandoah National Park is generally open during the winter (always call ahead) and you may want to consider a quick hike. Read this great article by Hank Zimmerman at http://visitshenandoah.org/v.php?pg=1099 to learn more about hiking in the Shenandoah National Park in the winter.

Florida loves Bryce Resort!

Submitted by WeekendOasis on Thu, 02/04/2010 - 20:01

As I am writing this, I've hosted over 4 families from Florida this year at Bryce Resort and another family is checking into Chestnut Oak Lodge from Florida. I always like to tell them, "I escape to Florida, from the snow in the winter, and you escape to Virginia, for the SNOW!". We recently hosted the Creese family at Bryce Resort and they were kind enough to leave comments we could share:

"I would rate the condo 9. We really enjoyed our stay, everything was so easy to get to. Enjoyed walking aroung the place. Skiing was great. Price was great. checking in was great. It was so nice just to show up and have a great time. We will be back next year as an annual event! Felt like we where in a cozy comfort oasis. Loved it. Thank you for everything. Carrie"

We hope to have you as our guest!
